Ashley Smith, Evan Suggs and more on "KWS Tonight" this Thursday

Williams Motorsports crew chief Ashley Smith and 2011 King of the West runner up Evan Suggs will be featured interviews this week on “KWS Tonight.”

To view the show log onto http://www.kwssprints.com starting at 7pm pst on Thursday. It will then replay on the homepage to watch at your leisurely pleasure over the next week. You can also see the show directly on the “KWS Tonight” Vimeo page at http://vimeo.com/user10076991

This past season saw Smith crew Chico’s Jonathan Allard to four KWS wins and a fourth place finish in the final standings. The familiar ZERO machine also raced to victory at the $40,000 to win Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway and finished within an arms reach of winning the prestigious Trophy Cup in October.

Smith has always been one of the biggest supporters of 410 Sprint Car racing in the Golden State and will share his thoughts on last year and what he’s doing to prepare for the upcoming season.

We will then spend some time with Suggs, who is coming off the best season of his Sprint Car career after finishing second in points and picking up his first ever KWS win in 2011. The 25-year-old has climbed the standings each season and is gearing up for a title run this year with the King of the West Series in his family’s No. 33e mount.

In addition to speaking with those two we’ll also have the “Kaeding Performance Flashback,” this week showcasing Golden State Series highlights from the 2002 “Salute to Walt Ross” and “Tribute to Gary Patterson” at Calistoga Speedway. The Memorial Day weekend double header saw some tremendous racing with a pair of World of Outlaw champions coming out on top.

The “Goodyear Highlight Reel” will also be seen, as we come to a close in our walk down memory lane from last season. This week we will show King of the West championship night at Kings Speedway in Hanford, where Jonathan Allard battled youngster Trey Starks and local favorite Tommy Tarlton for the famed “Cotton Classic” trophy.

To finish off the show we’ll update everyone on a couple of changes to the KWS schedule and preview races 12 through 15, which includes outings at the Antioch Speedway, Merced Speedway, Placerville Speedway and the “HK Classic” at Ocean Speedway.
