I grew up in Casco, Maine. Was almost born at Oxford Plains Speedway! I have always loved anything to do with automobiles and learned a lot from a young age by working in the garage with my dad, and driving go-karts, snowmobiles, tractors, dirt bikes and a 3-wheeler. I rebuilt my first engine before I had a car to put it in! I graduated second in my high school class and went to college at Kettering University (GMI at the time) and got a Mechanical Engineering degree with Automotive specialty.
While in College and co-oping with General Motors I joined DRD Motorsports in Connecticut with driver Denny Doyle. We won the Pro Stock championship at Stafford Motor Speedway and then ran several years in the Busch Grand National North series. I was Crew Chief / Team Engineer, tire changer, setup guy, engine tuner...whatever needed done. As I became a dad of three sons, I scaled back on traveling so much and started helping out local racers, including Jimmy Stratton and for the past several years with Evan Foster and his modified (his dad, Dave Foster and I went to college together!)
Now I get to pass on my love of automobiles and racing to my three sons, Jason, Joe, and Adam. My oldest (Jason) and I are both racing at the local tracks. We call our team MTS Racing for My Three Sons. Also we hope to just Make The Show! Hopefully we don't give my wife Linda too many heart palpitations.
My day job is as an Engineering Manager responsible for development and calibration of brake control systems at BWI Group Chassis Dynamics NA in Brighton, Michigan. We work on some pretty awesome vehicles around the world!
Thanks to all the track owners, promoters, and sponsors that support local auto racing so we get to do something we love to do...putting on a show for the fans!
