Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (Aug. 2, 2016) – Joe Trenca will return to action this weekend after taking the last couple of weeks off.
The Mucci Motorsports driver is scheduled to compete on Saturday at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in Canandaigua, N.Y., with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints.
“I really like the track,” he said. “We haven’t had the success we’d like there, but we built a new car for this weekend. We’re trying a couple of different things. Hopefully it translates to success.”
Trenca has competed at the track twice this season. He placed 13th on May 7 and 12th on June 30.
“Our goal is to win,” he said. “The biggest thing is you have to get in the redraw through the heat race. After that hopefully we put ourselves in good position to contend for the win.”
Trenca has found more consistency recently. In his last 11 races he has one podium finish, two top fives and five top 10s.
