Brent Marks Records Solid Finishes Against Outlaws, Full All Star Weekend Ahead
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MYERSTOWN, PA (July 25, 2016) – Brent Marks represented Central Pennsylvania well during the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series invasion of Williams Grove Speedway, knocking out back-to-back top-15 finishes during Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals competition, highlighted with a 12th place performance on Friday night, July 22. The “Myerstown Missile” earned his 12th place finish after starting 24th on the feature grid, advancing enough positions to also earn the KSE Hard Charger Award.
In similar fashion, Marks charged ten positions on Saturday, July 23, during the Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals finale, working ahead from 23rd to finish 13th.
“We are pretty proud of our results considering how each night started out” Marks explained. “We found ourselves in a hole, but still managed a way to dig out of it. I think we finished below our potential, but we kept fighting and never gave up. That’s what makes this team so special. They never give up. We’ll put these results behind us and focus on what’s ahead, which is a lot.”
Brent Marks will move on and continue his 2016 campaign with four starts between Tuesday, July 26, and Sunday, July 31. The tentative plan is to kick things off with a visit to the Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday evening, July 26. The second annual Thunder Cup worth $5,000 will be the headline attraction, as well as the remaining portions of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek program which was washed away by Mother Nature.
Once action at Grandview Speedway is complete, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks will switch his attention from Central Pennsylvania to the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Marks will join “America’s Series” for three events in Western Pennsylvania this Friday through Sunday, July 29-31, chasing a $3,000 point fund in the process. Dubbed the I-79 Summer Shootout presented by Classic Ink USA, the weekend will begin at the Eriez Speedway in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Friday night, July 29, followed by a stop at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Imperial on Saturday, July 30. The weekend mini-series will conclude on Sunday evening, July 31, at Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania. All three events will award $5,000 top prizes.
“We have our plan set right now and I see that going through,” Brent Marks said. “We had truck problems last week, so as long as we can have that fixed and ready in time, we’ll follow through with our schedule to join the All Stars.”
