Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 19, 2016) – White Lightning Motorsports enjoyed its most successful night of racing last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
Ricky Logan piloted a WLM 305ci sprint car to a feature win to become only the sixth driver in history at the famed track to record a victory in all three sprint car classes. Meanwhile, Devin Kline finished second to Logan in the main event with WLM affiliates Christian Bowman third and Corey Kautz fourth.
Additionally, Jamie Ball registered a runner-up result in the 360ci division.
“It was by far the best night of racing for White Lightning Motorsports in our existence,” he said. “I couldn’t ask for much better results.”
Kline opened the night by setting quick time in the 305 class. He then advanced from sixth to third place in a heat race before maneuvering from fourth to second place in the main event behind Logan.
“We ran third the first half of it,” Kline said. “I finally got by Christian. I felt like we were catching (Ricky) by a hair, but he had too big of a lead.”
Ball was just as smooth throughout the night. He timed in fifth quickest during qualifying and placed third in a heat race.
“It was a very efficient night,” he said. “We had our normal top five in qualifying. We avoided a wreck in the heat race. The polesitter got sideways at the line and Jake Bubak jumped his tire and it took out two other guys. I think four guys crashed there.”
Ball lined up on the outside of the front row for the main event.
“I had a little slow start next to Clint Garner,” he said. “Then I got thrown a big slide job from Joe Beaver. I chased him the rest of the time. Clint ended up breaking. We had a yellow and Matt Moro got by me. As the race went on I got better and was near perfect toward the end. I was able to get by Matt and hang with Joe, but I didn’t get an opportunity to get by him.”
Ball and Kline are scheduled to resume action at Knoxville Raceway this Saturday.
