BOISE, Idaho (July 6, 2016) Taking in four nights of racing across Washington and Oregon this past Independence Day Weekend, Logan Forler added three more top-tens to his 2016 record.
Starting off with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network at the Grays Harbor Raceway, the Brownfield Classic was a mix of results for the Steve Forler Trucking / Rush Concrete Pumping No. 2L
“Friday we were good. Just started at the back of everything, but we were still able to move forward. I think we were one of the biggest movers in Friday’s A-Main,” said Logan who ran from 16th to eighth in Friday’s prelim feature.
Rolling to Saturday night, a broken steering arm sent the No. 2L to the work area at the races start. Unable to complete repairs before the field went back green, Logan was saddled with a 19th place finish.
“We passed a ton of cars on the first lap before we broke the steering arm. The car was actually awesome.”
Taking Sunday to rebuild and roll out a different car, Forler caught up with the Western Sprint Tour at Cottage Grove Speedway on Monday, July 4. Winning his Heat, the feature was hard to pass in as the track began taking rubber.
“We were really good, the track was just hard to pass on. Once it took rubber, you just couldn’t move.”
On to Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, OR on Tuesday, Forler again won his Heat, but admitted that the track went opposite of what he setup for.
“We totally missed the setup. They went out and worked on the track just before the A-Main, and we really didn’t think it was going to do anything to it but it actually brought all the moisture back up so were terrible tight and couldn’t go forward.”
Despite the tight conditions, Logan managed a ninth place finish.
Loaded up and headed east, Forler will catch back up with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network this Friday and Saturday at the Gallatin Speedway for the Grizzly Nationals.
