Inside Line Promotions – LONGDALE, Okla. (Feb. 23, 2016) – Greg Burgess has been selected as the new general manager at Longdale Speedway.
Burgess will take over the reins at the semi-banked, 3/8-mile oval, which begins the 2016 season March 25-26 with the Chad McNamara #327 Memorial Race.
“I’m very excited about the opportunity to work at a brand new facility,” Burgess said. “It’s done very well since being created a couple of years ago and there is a plan in place for additional improvements so the future is very bright at Longdale Speedway. I look forward to being a part of the growth.”
Burgess has spent the last five years as the general manager at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., where he oversaw tremendous growth in national exposure as well as the local economy.
“I’m so thankful for everyone at Cocopah for the opportunity and I’m proud of what we built together,” he said. “I look forward to the same type of impact on not only the community but on the national stage as well at Longdale Speedway.”
Burgess was a longtime sponsor and supporter of racing in the Northwest before he became the ASCS Northwest Region series owner in 2008. He operated the region for three years before heading south to Cocopah Speedway, where Burgess helped guide the track to help generate more than $10 million of an annual effect on the local community.
