Dirt Classic Ohio Debuts August 3rd at Attica Raceway Park with $10,000 Winner's Share

With an ever-expanding schedule in 2016, Dirt Classic fans will now be able to mark their calendars for one event each month of the summer in the march to the marquee $20,000-to-win Dirt Classic event in September with the addition of the Dirt Classic Ohio at Attica Raceway Park on August 3rd.

The Wednesday night show will offer fans a unique, high-competition racing format, while The Dirt Classic competitors will vie for the ultimate price - $10,000 and a Golden Ticket to the Dirt Classic in September.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring our style of event to the great folks of Ohio in our partnership with Attica Raceway Park and DirtyMouth Communications,” promoter Jarrod Adams said. “Attica has a dedicated fan base and a very high level of competition already, so it will be really fun for the fans to see what we’ve designed to highlight that.”

In addition to the hefty winner’s paycheck, the Dirt Classic Ohio will offer the winning team a Golden Ticket starting spot in September’s $20,000-to-win Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 24th, which recently announced a starting pay of $1,000. The format for the Dirt Classic Ohio, along with other event details, will be released at a later date.

“The Dirt Classic is one of the fastest growing sprint car brands in America,” DirtyMouth’s Kristin Swartzlander said. “Our company has been thrilled to be a part of the marketing strategy since the beginning, and we’re excited to continue to invest in sprint car racing by co-promoting this show.”

Originally presented by sprint car advocate Kasey Kahne, the Dirt Classic began as a single-race event in 2014 at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA. Boasting the largest winner’s payout in the track’s storied history, the race attracted more than 50 teams from the Pennsylvania region in addition to travelers like Shane Stewart, Dale Blaney, Dave Blaney, Justin Henderson, and Craig Dollansky. Stevie Smith won the inaugural race to pick up a cool $20,000, while Brian Montieth was able to best Smith in a lap-for-lap battle in 2015 to collect the winning check and custom trophy.

Now, the brand will add Ohio to the list of new states to visit in 2016, in addition to Nebraska at I-80 Speedway with the NSL Series on May 6th, and Indiana at Kokomo Speedway with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on July 22nd and 23rd. The event schedule will also feature a Showcase Race at Lincoln Speedway on June 11th, which offers a unique challenge: start from last and get paid to pass with $15,000 on the line if the challenger is able to advance to the winning position.

Fans and teams should expect additional announcements on format, payouts, social media promotions and more over the next few months from the Dirt Classic team after the continued success and positive feedback from the 2015 Dirt Classic events.

Reserved seating for the Dirt Classic at Attica Raceway Park is available in the upper rows of Sections D through G. General admission seating is available in the lower rows in the main grandstands and in Sections A-C in turn 1 and Sections H-J in turn 4 grandstands.
