By Fully Injected Motorsports:
Myerstown, PA (November 18, 2015) – The 2015 season ended on a solid note for Myerstown, Pennsylvania’s Brent Marks, earning a top-ten finish during the $10,000-to-win, Final Showdown at Susquehanna Speedway Park on November 14. The “Myerstown Missile” crossed under the checkers ninth in the final rundown, solidifying himself on the feature starting grid with a victory during heat race competition. The Final Showdown officially capped off the 2015 season for Brent Marks Racing, leaving the BAPS Auto Paint & Supplies, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Diamond Toyota, Russell Heller Builders, No. 19M team anxious to begin the rebuilding process for 2016.
“Not a bad way to end our season” said Brent Marks, “We had the potential to be better, just didn’t work out how we intended. Regardless, I’m proud of my team and what we’ve accomplished this season. We had a slow start, but got that turned around during the later part of the season. I think we had the potential to earn more wins than we did. We were close on a lot of different occasions, but just couldn’t capitalize. We’ll move into the off-season with a plan to achieve more and pick up right where we left off.”
Brent Marks earned three victories during his 2015 campaign; a schedule that included action in all areas of the country. All three 410 sprint car victories took shape at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. Marks earned top honors during the Labor Day Classic, Night Before The Tuscarora 50, and the Tuscarora 50; a combined winner’s share reaching nearly $30,000. The Night Before The Tuscarora 50 and the Tuscarora 50 were each sanctioned by the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions.
Other Port Royal Speedway achievements in 2015 include finishing fifth against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in late October, as well as finishing second against the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions during the $15,000-to-win, Bob Weikert Memorial on April 25.
Qualifying for the 2015 Knoxville Nationals A-main ranks near the top of Marks’ all-time accomplishments. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native represented the “Pennsylvania Posse” proudly during the 50-lap, $150,000-to-win, Knoxville Nationals finale, finishing 17th at the final checkers. Marks earned his way into the “grandaddy of them all” by finishing third during the Friday night non-qualifiers A-main.
“We had a great streak going at Port Royal Speedway…we really had that place figured out this year” said Brent Marks, “Winning feels amazing, but I think our high this season was qualifying for the Knoxville Nationals. The feeling was indescribable. To qualify for a race like that is something I’ve been dreaming about since I started 410 racing. We’ll work to repeat that next year and hopefully outdo ourselves.”
Brent Marks Racing has already commenced planning for their 2016 campaign and will once again host their annual benefit to help kick-off the new year. The 3rd annual Brent Marks Racing Fundraiser will take shape on Saturday, January 16, at the American Legion Post 26 in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania.
