Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (Oct. 26, 2015) – Travis Rilat will cap his 2015 season this week at the 28th annual Comp Cams Short Track Nationals.
The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., will also mark Rilat’s return to his own sprint car for only the second time since the middle of July.
“We always look forward to going to the Short Track Nationals,” he said. “It’s definitely an event that is circled on the calendar. It presents an immense challenge because of the level of talent, the tough format and the tight track. That’s part of the fun though.”
Rilat has recorded six feature victories this season and he is hoping to earn his first career Short Track Nationals title.
“You have to constantly be passing cars with the Short Track Nationals format,” he said. “It’s important to take advantage of any track position you get and if you are buried in the field you have to pass cars. It’s definitely tough, but it also means if you have a good weekend you earned it.”
Rilat will compete at the quarter-mile oval on Wednesday during the Short Track Nationals Open before his preliminary night on Friday. The weekend concludes on Saturday with a $15,000-to-win main event.
