Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Oct. 13, 2015) – White Lightning Motorsports drivers Jamie Ball and Devin Kline combined to score seven feature victories during the 2015 season.
“We had some really bright moments this year,” Ball said. “I would say the combination of getting our first two Sprint Invaders wins and making the A Main at the 360 Knoxville Nationals for the second consecutive year were the two biggest spots.”
Ball picked up Sprint Invaders victories at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, in May and at Dubuque County Fair in Dubuque, Iowa, in July en route to a third-place finish in the championship standings.
“The Oskaloosa one was cool because it was less than 30 minutes from home,” he said. “I had to beat Nate Van Haaften and Terry McCarl to do it. I ran probably the best 30 laps of my life.”
Ball also noted his 15th-place finish out of nearly 100 drivers during the 360 Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
“Nationals went great,” he said. “We had our best qualifying effort of the whole season. Everything just went real well except for the heat race where we had a spark plug wire fall off. To be able to prevail through that and make the A Main was special.”
Kline also had a standout season. He won a track-best five features in the 305ci class at Knoxville Raceway, including the final two races of the year, to place second in the championship standings.
“It was an unforgettable season,” he said. “We almost came out winning the points. I’m very lucky and very fortunate to finish where we are. I learned so much this year I can’t begin to explain. This year was a major growing year. I look forward to building on that.”
Kline was victorious in May, June, July and August at the famed half-mile oval.
“One of the wins my little brother was able to come down to Victory Lane,” he said. “That one was pretty special to me. Finishing out the year the way we did was a major statement from our team as well. I’m excited for next year.”
