Ryan Timms followed the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship to The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Indianapolis, IN) on Thursday to compete in the Driven2SaveLives BC39 Presented By Avanti Windows & Doors.
With the 59-car field divided into two groups for split prelims on Thursday and Friday, Timms locked into a second-row starting position for Thursday’s preliminary feature via passing points. With a $5,000 payday up for grabs, Ryan faded to ninth at the checkers.
After Mother Nature postponed Friday and Saturday’s events to Sunday, Ryan squeezed into the $20,039-to-win BC39 finale with the final transfer spot in his semi-feature. Taking the green in 16th, Timms climbed three positions in the 39-lap affair to finish 13th.
Ryan is currently third in the latest USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship point standings.
