There's a new name taking home Kubota High Limit Racing's Cometic Gasket Crew Chief of the Month in July. After three-straight scores for Eric Prutzman of Kasey Kahne Racing, the latest prize goes to Ricky Warner of Rico Abreu Racing.
The recently-inducted National Sprint Car Hall of Fame member is revered as one of the greatest crew chiefs in the history of Sprint Car Racing, and Rico Abreu would be the first to tell you that the man they call "Tricky Ricky" has elevated his program to a whole new level since joining the #24 team.
In July, the Rico Abreu Racing bunch won on three occasions, twice with Kubota High Limit Racing, clearing $25,000+ in earnings with every trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane. The St. Helena, California native has won back-to-back points-paying events with the series from wins at Ohio's Portsmouth Raceway Park and Pennsylvania's Lernerville Speedway.
As it stands, the #24 is currently fourth in the Kubota High Limit Racing championship standings - only 26-points behind Brent Marks for the third position.
Crew Chief Ricky Warner is assisted on Abreu's ride by car chief Zack Middlebrooks and tire specialist Brady Forbrook.
The standings will reset for the month of August which is highlighted by Kubota High Limit Racing's first-ever west coast swing with 11 races planned through California, Oregon, and Washington. Included in that stretch is major events such as the $100,070-to-win Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway on August 22-24 and the $100,000-to-win Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway on August 29-31.
