Mike Neau Wins POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals Night Two at River Cities Speedway

Belleville, IL. (8/12/23) Soaring into Night Two of the Fifth Annual POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals as the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series would welcome competitors from eight states and Canada onto the superbly smooth River Cities Speedway with Mike Neau emerging victorious from Wisconsin to claim Nationals Night Two win.

Continuing the four-day speed-fest in Grand Forks North Dakota with forty entries, Night Two of the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals would continue open-wheel diversity with Jesse Fernandez of Colorado claiming checkers in Heat Race One, California talent Grant Sexton victorious in Heat Race Two, 2022 Nationals winner Johnny Boos winning Heat Race Three, as Weston Olson would earn heat race four victory. Semi-feature winners would include Eric Sunborg and Chris Crowder.

Launching on the feature green flag racing would find Dash winner Mike Neau battle front-row companion Grant Sexton into the first pair of corners as the younger Sexton driver would blast to the preferred position with Neau right on his heels in hot pursuit.

Overtaking for the lead on lap seven and then holding the front of the field for the final nineteen laps of the twenty-five-lap feature event, Mike Neau would not be denied in his continual quest of dream race chasing to earn his first career victory in the POWRi Lightning Sprint Division, as Night One winner Alex Truscinski continues to lead the weeklong racing retreat after the Night Two feature finish.

Flexing his racing might, Johnny Boos would drive from starting fourth to advance a trio of positions to finish runner-up as up-and-coming sensation Mathew Taves would clinch third. Night One winner and eight-starting Alex Truscinski finished fourth with Bryce Haugeberg rounding out the top-five finishers for the hosting POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series feature event at River Cities Speedway for Night Two of the 2023 POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals.
