Belleville, IL. (4/29/23) Jack Potter would strike first in winning ways at Callaway Raceway with the LisaSellsTheLake POWRi 305 Sprint Series by gaining his debut divisional feature win in the first event for the newly christened traveling series on Friday as Randy Martin would emphatically earn checkers on Saturday at I-70 Motorsports Park.
Starting the first night out on the strongest foot forward would find Gage Montgomery and J Kinder each earning heat racing victories as Kinder would earn the night’s high point qualifier award to earn a front-row grid for the feature event.
Launching on the initial green flag would find pole-sitter J Kinder battle front-row companion Gage Montgomery into the first pair of corners with Kinder taking the racing advantage as the field maneuvered for position behind.
Overtaking for the lead would witness third-starting Jack Potter pocketing his first career victory in the LisaSellsTheLake POWRi 305 Sprint Division by outdueling the runner-up finisher J Kinder as Mike Trent claimed the final podium placement of the competition.
Finishing fourth, Matt Fox would cross the line before Kenny Potter to round out the top-five finishers for the POWRi 305 Sprint Series feature event for the first race of the 2023 season hosted by Callaway Raceway.
Then on Saturday, Jack Potter and Jacob Greenwood would each earn heat racing victories as Greenwood would ride the winning wave of momentum to earn the night’s high point qualifier award to earn a front-row grid for the feature event.
Launching on the initial green flag would find pole-sitter Jacob Greenwood battle front-row companion Jack Potter into the first pair of corners with a massive caution halting the field on the first pair of corners taking nearly half the field from contention as all drivers were okay following the caution.
After clearing the track and resetting the starting line-up, Randy Martin and Jack Potter would fill out the newly revised starting front row with Martin gaining the early advantage after shooting to the lead on the restart.
Earning his ninth career victory in the LisaSellsTheLake POWRi 305 Sprint Division dating back to weekly racing at Lake Ozark Speedway, Randy Martin would outduel the runner-up finisher to lead every lap and capture the feature win. Second-starting Jack Potter would clinch runner-up as Jacob Dye claimed the final podium placement of the competition.
Finishing fourth, Jay Russell would cross the line before Ty Williams to round out the top-five finishers for the LisaSellsTheLake POWRi 305 Sprint Series feature event for the first race of the 2023 season at I-70 Motorsports Park.
