Belleville, IL. (7/22/22) Whit Gastineau would flex his racing might with the POWRi LOS Wray’s Lawn and Landscaping 305 Sprint Division border-battling the Oil Capitol Racing Series presented by AmeriFlex, gaining his first career divisional feature win in the Second Annual Beach Brawl appearance of the Honest Abe’s Home Service LOS Chase for the Championship at Lake Ozark Speedway.
Early heat racing action would witness Whit Gastineau, Danny Smith, and Terry Easom each earn victories with Gastineau grabbing the night’s high-point qualifier award as well as the pole-starting grid for the twenty-lap feature event with Danny Smith starting outside the front row.
Launching on the initial green flag would find Danny Smith establishing the early lead with pole-sitting Gastineau rebounding to overtake for the lead around lap seven. Confirming the front of the field, Whit would not be denied in the feature win by holding off all onslaughts for the top spot.
Finishing second, Terry Easom would have his hands full in the closing laps as fifth-starting Johnny Kent placed third. One-time leader Danny Smith would fade late to finish fourth with Mike Trent rounding out the top-five finishers for the POWRi LOS Wray’s Lawn and Landscaping 305 Sprint Division border-battling the Oil Capitol Racing Series feature event in Night One of the Second Annual Beach Brawl.
