River Cities Speedway 8-11-17

Well this week the team worked hard to solve the chain problems that have been plaguing the team the last few weeks. With the help of Laske Fabrication we were able to have the chain guard holes on the block fixed. Kelly & Marty did a great job getting things ready for Friday night at River Cities Speedway and i was excited to see the results of their hard work! the heat race we drew the pole for the 2nd heart and and things were definitely looking up for the evening! Dexter got the jump on us in the heat race and we were following him cruising around in 2nd place with a car that was handling alright for a few laps and then the chain came apart again!! once we got pushed to the pits Kelly, Marty & Hayden got right to work on finding out what the cause was and assembling a new chain for the feature. Things were close but we were ready come feature time and the 100 machine took to the track in the 5th or 6th row behind Ryan Davis. The start of the race we picked off a few cars that very 1st turn but the race was red flagged for a rollover by Brody Hutton which we missed but we did manage to catch some debris running over his front wing. During the red flag officials checked the car over and found no damage so once the track went yellow we resumed racing once lined up. The car took off pretty well just a bit in the loose side but did seem to be fairly fast and we moved up a few spots again right away only to have the chain come apart again!!! This time it did a little damage to the repairs Shayne Laske made so we will have to get that fixed again!! i had to work in Greenbush Saturday night so Marty took the car home and worked on it Saturday to have it ready for BRRP Sunday night!! Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so we did not get to race tonight...We did however do some testing today and think that the issue may have been determined possibly and now know how to proceed once we get Laske Fabrication to weld it back up. The new motor from Hanson Gear & Engine seems to be really strong if we can keep the chain to it!!! We will get back to work at it this week and should be ready to rock next Sunday night at BRRP!!
Thanks again to Kelly, Marty & Hayden for the time spent this week and the trip to Grand Forks on Friday night!!
One of the best things about Sunday night was the kids that came up for cards, stickers, autographs & letting them get pictures in the car. My Step dad was busy for awhile helping them in and out of the car!!! That made the frustrating night that much better hanging out with family, friends, kids and fellow racers afterwards!!!
